Christian Alexander is an internationally renowned hairstylist and makeup artist who delights in the close connections he forms with his clients and being able to play his part in their style reinvention.
Christian spent the early years of his career in Paris, building exceptional skills and refining his techniques with the French styling legend Jacques Dessange. Working with industry icons fuelled an enviable portfolio in editorial and runway fashion, including Chanel’s ‘Bombay’ collection and regular assignments with Harper’s BAZAAR India, ELLE and Vogue China, Estetica Italy, Australia’s InStyle and The Journal and extensive freelancing throughout Hong Kong and Australia for both print and broadcast media.
Christian’s beautiful styling techniques have been favoured by celebrities around the world including Jennifer Hawkins, Megan Gale, Megan Washington, Jennifer Saunders, Chrissy Amphlett, Kate Miller-Heidke & Princess Zara Phillips.
“My inspiration comes from everywhere…. Theatre, fashion, travel, architectural and interior design. I love the whimsical yet innate practicality of Jonathan Adler’s work right through to the high theatre of mainstay fashion designers such as Vivienne Westwood, Versace and Karl Lagerfeld.”
After two decades of fashioning an illustrious career in hair and beauty, Christian has been recognised with many accolades for his skills, including Best Avant-Garde Hairdresser in Paris, and as a finalist for Australian Makeup Artist of the Year 2010, 2011 and 2012.
“Beauty is definitely subjective and I think everyone has beauty within and it’s just a matter of teasing that out with the right mediums.”
Simon has been practicing as an Endorsed-Enrolled Nurse (EEN) for more than five years, specialising in ENT and plastic and reconstructive surgical nursing with a focus on skin and wound care.
Simon had already established an extensive career in hairdressing when a serious family illness provided first-hand experience in the devoted care that nurses can provide to loved ones in need. This had a profound effect and ultimately saw him changing careers to pursue nursing.
Since then, Simon’s desire to ‘give back’ has become innate and he has assembled a committed clientele at the Atelier for cosmetic and dermal treatments.
Simon’s dedication to wound care nursing within the hospital environment overlaps with his cosmetic nursing practice and he takes great pride in playing his part in helping people heal.
“I love working alongside my patients to achieve radiance and have them feeling comfortable - if not fabulous - in their own skin. Every day I can see the enormous difference that good skin care can make in someone’s life.”
